Well, it arrived, it happened, and now it’s all over. Next May, all being well, it will be held in Freiburg, Germany. To keep up-to-date on when this will happen visit and bookmark the Europäischen Stein-Festival website.

For those who competed, helped & visited these will hopefully remind you of a great festival with a lot of fun had by all. For those of you who didn’t, it’s a teaser for when you next see a stone carving festival advertised near you so you’ll know not to miss it. Or just come and join us in Germany next year.
All photos in this gallery are courtesy of Simon Merryman, from the Winchester Photographic Society, who came all the way up here just to enjoy himself in our Northern home, take photos – oh, and (probably) to support his sister, Carol Pike, as she competed in the Master Carver’s category, with her rather gorgeous moon-gazing hare (look out for the photo below).
